WHAT IS PRESBYOPIA?
Presbyopia is the normal loss of near focusing ability that occurs with age. Most people start to see the effects of presbyopia after age 40, when they begin having trouble seeing small print clearly. Though presbyopia is a normal change in our eyes as we age, it is difficult to ignore and impossible to hide.
WHAT CAUSES PRESBYOPIA?
Over time, the natural lens in your eye gradually thickens and loses flexibility. Age-related changes occur with the proteins in the natural lens. Changes also take place in the muscle fibers surrounding the lens. Less elasticity makes it difficult for eyes to focus on near tasks, including time spent on your digital devices. Presbyopia is a progressive condition.
