September is Paraoptometric Appreciation Month

Did you know that September is Paraoptometric Appreciation Month?

It’s a special time to recognize the amazing team members who help make your eye care experience smooth, comfortable, and personalized.

Who Are Paraoptometrics?

Paraoptometrics are the highly trained staff who work alongside your eye doctor at every visit. They are often the first friendly faces you see when you arrive and the last to make sure you leave with everything you need.

They help with:

  • Collecting your health history and pre-testing before you see the doctor
  • Guiding you through diagnostic tests and imaging
  • Teaching you how to use and care for contact lenses
  • Helping you select, fit, and adjust your glasses
  • Answering your questions about insurance, billing, and eye health

In short, paraoptometrics make sure you have the best possible eye care experience!

Our Team’s Expertise

At Progressive Eye Center, we are especially proud that almost all of our staff hold national certifications in their field. Many are certified by the American Optometric Association through programs such as:

  • CPO – Certified Paraoptometric
  • CPOA – Certified Paraoptometric Assistant
  • CPOT – Certified Paraoptometric Technician
  • CPOC – Certified Paraoptometric Coder

Others hold certifications from the American Board of Opticians (ABOC), demonstrating advanced knowledge in eyewear and lens fitting.

These credentials mean our team has gone above and beyond to stay current in their training so that you receive the highest quality care and expertise every time you visit us.

How You Can Celebrate With Us

This September, we invite you to join us in celebrating our paraoptometric team. A simple “thank you” during your visit goes a long way and reminds our staff how much their dedication is valued.

Eye care is truly a team effort. Our paraoptometrics make your visits smoother, your glasses sharper, and your overall experience better. This month—and every month—we’re grateful for their hard work and commitment to your vision and eye health.
